Pure water of Mt. Geumgang flows to east sea, and it of Mt. Seorak flows too.

금강산 맑은 물은 동해로 흐르고 설악산 맑은 물도 동해가는데

When our face can be united, where our mind go to ?

우리네 마음들은 어디로 가는가 언제쯤 우리는 하나가 될까

 

Board a ship and depart from Duman river, also from Jeju island too.

백두산 두만강에서 배타고 떠나라 한라산 제주에서 배타고 간다

Along with voyage, sometimes meet a morning sun alone with dropping anchor.

Song of Arirang is that of enlightenment. The book called 'secrets of our language' says; A: real me, ri: truth, logical, law and rang: enjoy, delight. As same time, In korean culture, Arirang means someone who shines as sun. So, it is not a grief song, but a enlightenment of song for an ignorant.
